May 8

Today, I began my hunt for the hidden gems of gardens in Florence. I have a few on my list that I want to visit before Dooms Day, I mean, when I head home next Saturday. I had heard of the Bardini Gardens, but had yet to pay them a visit. They are across the river near Piazzale Michelangelo. Though connected to Boboli Gardens, Bardini had a totally different feel. It was quiet, secluded, and much more lush. Kelsey and I, naturally, had a long discussion about whether we would want have the gardens as our wedding venues. I am laughing at myself as I type that. We were drizzled on, but took refuge under the awning of a cafe embedded into the gardens. It was a perfect afternoon.
